PROJECT CAIN BY GEOFFREY GIRARD BLOG TOUR: TEN FAVORITE THINGS + GIVEAWAY

Synopsis

Fifteen-year-old Jeff Jacobson had never heard of Jeffrey Dahmer, the infamous serial killer who brutally murdered seventeen people more than twenty years ago. But Jeff’s life changes forever when the man he’d thought was his father hands him a government file telling him he was constructed in a laboratory only seven years ago, part of a top-secret government cloning experiment called ‘Project CAIN’.

There, he was created entirely from Jeffrey Dahmer’s DNA. There are others like Jeff—those genetically engineered directly from the most notorious murderers of all time: The Son of Sam, The Boston Strangler, Ted Bundy . . . even other Jeffrey Dahmer clones. Some raised, like Jeff, in caring family environments; others within homes that mimicked the horrific early lives of the men they were created from.

When the most dangerous boys are set free by the geneticist who created them, the summer of killing begins. Worse, these same teens now hold a secret weapon even more dangerous than the terrible evil they carry within. Only Jeff can help track the clones down before it’s too late. But will he catch the ‘monsters’ before becoming one himself?

ANTIGODDESS BLOG TOUR BY KENDARE BLAKE- PLAYLIST & GIVEAWAY

Thanks for stopping by my blog, I have a little playlist that Kendare used for Antigoddess. Thanks so much to Jean from Jean Booknerd and Kendare Blake for allowing me to be a part of the blog tour. Kendare is also the author of Anna Dressed in Blood, which is one of my personal favorite spooky series. If you haven't read it and Girl of Nightmares, you really should. She's the queen of putting goosebumps along your skin, as well as making you love her characters. Enjoy!

Synopsis

The Goddess War begins in Antigoddess, the first installment of the new series by acclaimed author of Anna Dressed in Blood, Kendare Blake.

Old Gods never die…

Or so Athena thought. But then the feathers started sprouting beneath her skin, invading her lungs like a strange cancer, and Hermes showed up with a fever eating away his flesh. So much for living a quiet eternity in perpetual health.

Desperately seeking the cause of their slow, miserable deaths, Athena and Hermes travel the world, gathering allies and discovering enemies both new and old. Their search leads them to Cassandra—an ordinary girl who was once an extraordinary prophetess, protected and loved by a god.

These days, Cassandra doesn’t involve herself in the business of gods—in fact, she doesn’t even know they exist. But she could be the key in a war that is only just beginning.

Because Hera, the queen of the gods, has aligned herself with other of the ancient Olympians, who are killing off rivals in an attempt to prolong their own lives. But these anti-gods have become corrupted in their desperation to survive, horrific caricatures of their former glory. Athena will need every advantage she can get, because immortals don’t just flicker out.

Every one of them dies in their own way. Some choke on feathers. Others become monsters. All of them rage against their last breath.

The Goddess War is about to begin.

Meet the Author

Kendare Blake is an import from South Korea who was raised in the United States by caucasian parents. You know, that old chestnut. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Ithaca College and a Master’s degree in Writing from Middlesex University in London. She brakes for animals, the largest of which was a deer, which sadly didn’t make it, and the smallest of which was a mouse, which did, but it took forever. Amongst her likes are Greek Mythology, rare red meat and veganism. She also enjoys girls who can think with the boys like Ayn Rand, and boys who scare the morality into people, like Bret Easton Ellis.

ANTIGODDESS PLAYLIST

That theme song by Florence and the Machine, Breath of Life, from the Snow White and the Huntsman soundtrack.
Anything by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.
That one song, Radioactive, by Imagine Dragons, because it makes everything sound good. Doesn’t matter what they put it with. They could be advertising a video game about door to door salesmen, and I’d want to play it.

PERFECT REGRET (Bad Rep #2) by A Meredith Walters Blog Tour and Giveaway

SYNOPSIS:

Riley Walker makes all the right decisions and knows exactly where her life is headed.

Riley Walker does not make mistakes.

Riley Walker certainly doesn’t make spontaneous decisions.

But then Riley Walker gets dumped.

Spectacularly, gut-wrenching, stomp all over her heart dumped. And she is feeling more than a little angry. And a whole lot bitter. And suddenly the girl who has always done everything right feels like doing something completely wrong.

Garrett Bellows, lead guitarist for the local band, Generation Rejects, is going through life without a plan. Trying not to think past the next gig or the next party, he has worked hard to not become too attached to anyone or anything. So he is shocked to find himself drawn to the snarky girl with a chip on her shoulder. She pisses him off and puts him down. He knows she’s nothing more than a self-entitled college brat who thinks she’s better than the townie boy without a future.

Alcohol and a hefty dose of lust leads to a night both Riley and Garrett immediately regret. Her embarrassment, his pride and the weight of rumors and misconceptions convince Riley and Garrett that their one-time indiscretion will never be repeated. Particularly when their harshest critics are each other.

But how do you reconcile a head that wants to let go with a heart that keeps holding on?

And what happens when your biggest regret begins to seem almost perfect?

Excerpt

“You are so fucking gorgeous, Riley.” He traced the line of my collarbone, his finger dipping into the crevice between my breasts, unleashing a wave of chills over my skin.
“I’m scared as hell you’ll wake up tomorrow and realize you can do a lot better than me.  That you and me, we’re too different and this can never work.” Garrett bent low and replaced his finger in the valley between my breasts with his mouth, suckling the skin and eliciting a throaty moan from my throat.
“Please don’t wake up thinking that.  Because you and me could be something wonderful.  I swear to God I’ll spend the rest of my life proving it to you,” he said into my skin as he kissed a line up chest and up the side of my neck until he sucked my earlobe between his teeth, making me gasp.
“You don’t need to prove anything to me, Garrett,” I rasped, finding it hard to talk.  Hard to breathe.  Hard to think.

My Review: 4 out of 5 Stars

I swear, A Meredith Walters can write a really good book. I've been a fan of her work since I read Find You in the Dark. It easily became one of my all-time favorite books. She can write such a raw emotional story, so captivating, with characters that tug on your heartstrings. Of course that series was a bit more dark and gritty given the heavy topic it dealt with. But even so, anything she writes, I'd enjoy.

This book was filled with alot of emotions, heartache, pain, lessons about love, loss. After dealing with a bad breakup, Riley resorts to a night she wants to forget. With the lead guitarist of Jordan's band, Generation Rejects (interesting band name), Garrett. He uses women and drugs as an escape from his own pain he's suffered in his life. So when they realize the next morning what they've done, things start to get complicated. Their relationship goes back and forth, more pain and heartache, more "do I want this? Is it really for me? Can I trust this?" blah blah blah. It gets tiresome, but eventually, things take a turn for the better.

I got really flustered with Riley at times. Okay, she got dumped, I get it. It sucks. It hurts. It's wounding. But, it happens. It's life. We all go through it once in our lives. But she was too whiny at times, and I wanted to slap her. She was a bit on the mean side, hurting Garrett over and over. Even though he's had his fair share of issues and mistakes, he loved her, but deserved better. His heartbreak was my heartbreak. I felt horrible for him, wanted to comfort him and keep him safe. But thankfully, Riley saw the light and I didn't feel like strangling her by the end. The characters from Bad Rep were in this book, so those that adored Jordan and Maysie will get their fix.

Even though, I didn't love this story AS much as Maggie and Clay's story, it was still worth the read. Really, anything that Walters writes, I'll read. She just has a knack for sucking me into her stories and ride the roller-coaster with her characters. I love her writing style and the words that fill up the pages. I do recommend anything by her. She's on auto-buy, and I think others that love emotional books should give her a chance. Great job A!

Thanks for stopping by! I am so excited to be a part of this tour. The author is an amazing writer and this series is great. I'm sure many readers will love it! Below is all the info you need, links, author info, the book description.

Title: Girl on Tour (Kylie Ryans #2)
Author: Caisey Quinn
Genre: Romance
Age Group: New Adult (MA 17+ Content)
Release Date: August 27, 2013
Cover Design & Format: E.M. Tippetts Book Design

Synopsis

An up and comer trying to make a name for herself...

KYLIE never expected to be stuck on a tour bus with a pampered princess and her boyfriend’s ex.

A troubled artist struggling to hold onto his career...

TRACE thought he was finally getting to do things his way. Until the label added co-headliner Gretchen Gibson, the only person in country music with more issues than him, to his No Apologies tour.

Surrounded by tabloid rumors and people they can't trust, Kylie and Trace need each other more than ever. But the choices they make will change everything.

Because chasing your dreams and following your heart don’t always lead you to the same place…

My Review

I love books about rockstars. I loved Thoughtless, well mostly Kellan. But I love getting to see how musicians live their rock star bad ass lives. Being a singer at heart, especially loving the country genre, I loved reading about Kylie's career as it was getting a jump start. Then add Trace to the mix, and it was just great-angsty and complicated, but awesome nonetheless. This was a great continuation to the Girl with Guitar.

Now most people have to have their HEA, and I'm one of those, but I also know that we don't always get an HEA all the time. So this ends on a cliffie, and even though it's got me begging for the last book of the series, I've got a great feeling that we'll get what we want when it's all said and done. I mean, we have to, right?

I love Kylie and Trace. They're wonderful characters with struggles that are as realistic as say, Tim and Faith. Being a musician can be overwhelming, especially when you're trying to keep up with a relationship with a hot musician. There's a lot of emotions, expectations, insecurities, drama, and when you're trying to stay out of the lime-light, it's really difficult. Add more problems such as going on two different tours. You have to keep up with a long-distance relationship while keeping your career going. It's a lot of pressure. But that's what makes it real, because that's exactly what rockstars these days go through, lots of self-discovery and independence and chasing a dream that so many others would kill for.

All in all, I enjoyed this book. I look forward to Girl in Love. I give this book 5/5 stars. Great job!

My name is Tate. He doesn't call me that, though. He would never refer to me so informally, if he referred to me at all. No, he'll barely even speak to me.
But he still won't leave me alone.
We were best friends once. Then he turned on me and made it his mission to ruin my life. I've been humiliated, shut out, and gossiped about all through high school. His pranks and rumors got more sadistic as time wore on, and I made myself sick trying to stay out of his way. I even went to France for a year, just to avoid him.
But I'm done hiding from him now, and there's no way in hell I'll allow him to ruin my senior year. He might not have changed, but I have. It's time to fight back.

Excerpt: Tate Bullies Back Scene

Over the years, Tate had endured a lot of harassment because of me. People were pretty stupid in high school and freshman and sophomores are the dumbest. They want to be accepted, and gossip is taken as gospel. Tell people that someone has their clit pierced or that they eat dogs, and you just have to sit back and watch the school flood with talk. And usually the objects of the talk would drown pretty quickly.
However, by junior and senior year, silly rumors are about as effective as a broken condom. I’d wanted to keep guys away from Tate, but that wasn’t working so much anymore. They saw she was beautiful, and now, after the locker room incident, they saw her as a slut, too.
“Jared’s right. You’re not worth it.” Nate’s voice was low, but I was already on his ass.
“Sit down, Nate.”
He spun around, while Tate looked up. I didn’t make eye contact with her, but I knew her eyes were on me.
Dietrich looked surprised and small. He knew not to mess with me as did most of the school. I wasn’t huge, and I had no special skills that other guys didn’t have, but I wasn’t afraid. Ever. I didn’t mind getting hit, and I didn’t back down.
That’s what scared most people about me.
You come at me, and I’ll come after you harder.
“Hey, man, no offense.” He held up his hands. “If you’re not done with her…”
My arms surged with the need to haul this guy out of here by his collar.
If I’m not done with her?
And just then, I felt like crawling inside of myself to hide.
My throat tightened, and my eyes burned.
What the hell?
I wanted her to hurt, but I didn’t want her to hurt. I hated her. I loved her. I wanted to violate her body in a hundred different ways, but I wanted to keep her safe.
There was no limit to how fucking confused I was right now, but one thing was for certain.
Tate was worth more than all of us put together.
She wasn’t trash.
She was hope and sunlight, and all the good shit that assholes like us don’t get.
And for the first time, I wasn’t getting any goddamn peace from tormenting this girl. I just wanted to wrap her up in my arms and see her happy.
My eyes narrowed, and I wished for a perfect world where I could toss darts at this guy’s dick. “Don’t talk to her again,” I commanded. “Go.” And I jerked my chin off to a corner he should go fucking hide in.
Was I better than him?
No. But I’d deal with that shit later.
Tate let out an aggravated sigh as Nate walked off, and I turned my eyes on her in time to see her lips tighten. I saw the scowl, knew it was meant for me, but didn’t even have a chance to figure out why when she spoke up.
“Don’t do me any favors,” she sneered. “You’re a miserable piece of shit, Jared. But then, I guess I’d be miserable, too, if my parents hated me. Your dad left you, and your mom avoids you. But who can blame them, right?”
I stopped breathing, and the room around me closed in.
What the fuck did she just say?
I stared at her, feeling torn apart and dead, knowing that it was completely un-Tate to say something like that but also knowing that she spoke the truth.
I didn’t forget to breathe. I just didn’t want to anymore.
It felt like every eye in the room was on me and people were whispering behind their hands, laughing at me. I was exposed, and everyone knew my shit.
My eyes sharpened on her, and I wasn’t at all confused anymore about whether I loved or hated her.
I fucking hated her.
She was packaged up to look like a good girl, but make no mistake. There was bitch in there, and thank God I was reminded of that fact.

A cow suicide, a revolving door rescue, and the birth of a bright purple pig are starting to make Kate Saxee wonder if taking a job in her small hometown of Branson Falls, Utah, was such a great idea. As The Branson Tribune editor, Kate covers local news, which, more often than not, involves her accident-prone mom. Nothing truly newsworthy has ever happened in the quiet town until local teen Chelsea Bradford turns up dead in a Branson Falls lake.

The police rule Chelsea’s death an accident, but Kate suspects there’s more to the story—and she’s not the only one. Two of Branson’s most eligible bachelors are determined to help her solve the crime—among other things. But the small town social network is faster than Twitter, and gossip about Kate’s love-life is quickly branding her the Branson Falls hussy.

As Kate learns more about Chelsea, she discovers that plenty of people are trying to cover up the real story behind the girl’s death—including Chelsea’s parents. Now Kate has to juggle work, men, her mom’s most recent disaster involving a low-speed John Deere Combine chase on the freeway, and fend off the Mormons heaven-bent on saving her soul—all while solving Chelsea’s murder. Dealing with this is going to require a lot of coffee, chocolate frosted donuts, Neil Diamond's greatest hits, and a slew of words not on the town approved imitation swear list.
