Chasing Nikki by Lacey Weatherford

Chasing NikkiChasing Nikki by Lacey Weatherford
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! I can't do this *SOB SOB*

This book ripped me to pieces. OH MY GOD. I am sobbing so hard my eyes are going to fall out. I can't believe this. I. Can't. *SOB SOB SOB SOB*

I'm done. I'm at a loss for words and I can never finish this review. *walks away and falls to the floor convulsing*

Oh God Chase, I'm so sorry.
********************************************************************
Okay, so against my better judgment I decided to write my review tonight. Since my emotions have simmered just a bit, I'm still in tears but not sobs. I'm at the numb stage. I cried myself out to exhaustion. My eyes are burning and my throat hurts because I literally was full on sobbing. I had to leave the room and go someplace private so I didn't wake up my kids, it was that loud. But I realized that if I didn't write my review now, I never would. It would be too hard.

First of all, I need to give Lacey kudos on this book. I seriously don't know how she wrote this it. I can't even imagine the emotions she went through while actually writing out some of these scenes. I literally am baffled. As a writer, I have wrote some emotional scenes that made me sad. But God this would have ripped my heart out and then I wouldn't have been able to continue. On to the review...

SYNOPSIS:
Chase Walker is a 17 year old football player who is lost in his grief after his dad dies in a tragic plane crash-ON HIS BIRTHDAY. He becomes destructive...turning to drugs and alcohol to numb his pain. It doesn't work well when after a party with friends they get pulled over for speeding and having marijuana and drunk driving. He spends time in jail until his mom bails him out. Once they get his sentence of community service and pay fines, his mom and him move to his grandparents house on a ranch where he has to make new friends and attend a new school-basically start over. Everyone looks at him like the new bad kid who causes trouble and plays the field. He meets Brett who automatically sees the real Chase without making assumptions. He and Brett hit it off. Chase then sees Nikki Wagner.....

Nikki Wagner is a 17 year old cheerleader who moves on after her father dies of cancer. She was also abused by her ex boyfriend Jeremy, a football player. After that, she swore she'd stay away from football players....

Chase and Nikki meet....they don't hit it off. In fact Nikki won't give him the time of day. But Chase is determined to have her. Once he is told he has to volunteer at the hospital as part of his community service, he runs into Nikki who happens to be the person he is supposed to help pass out packets to the drug and alcohol group session every week. They are both shocked to be there at the same time. But nonetheless, Chase realizes his feelings for Nikki are nothing more than genuine and he truly wants to get close to her. She is just different from the girls he's had sex with and dumped. His feelings are clouding his judgment. After spending more time with Chase, Nikki realizes he may just be the guy she's been searching for.

They date...for a long time, into their senior year. And then after a football game, Nikki and Chase decide it's time to take that step that Chase has been patiently waiting for(Nikki is still a virgin and Chase has been SO good about waiting for her), after the prom....it's their night, they sneak out of their houses to meet. And then there's an accident.....

And I'm stopping there. I will cry again, the water works are right there waiting to spill out. This book all the way up to the last few chapters were AMAZING!!!!!! I fell instantly in love with Chase. And Nikki. One thing I have to say is that I can relate to them both in every way. My father died of cancer when I was 18 and eventhough Chase's was so sudden, it was still painful nonetheless. I had time to prepare like Nikki did but it never softened the blow. A death is sad no matter how it happens-especially with a parent. So as I'm reading this, I'm reliving my past and it hit me so hard, I lost it. I cried for Chase. I cried for Nikki. But she was able to move past it, even though it still hurt her, she took a more positive approach. Chase on the other hand wanted to stop hurting and to numb the pain. Lacey showed us both ways a death affects people. We all grieve in our own way. He was doing better with not drinking or smoking pot, but there was still temptation. And sometimes he felt he wasn't strong enough to cope without it. This book was happy at times, most of the book made you feel good. It was showing how your first love really stays with you always. I could relate to Nikki, I was also abused by an ex. He was a real prick. But once she found Chase and realized that he wasn't like every other guy...things were pretty great!! OH. MY. GOD. I loved him!!!!!!! He was everything real guys should be.

I loved the characters! They all played a big role in this book. Brittany and Brett were twins and became amazing friends to Nikki and Chase. Also most of the guys on the football team showed that not all football players are arrogant assholes. I loved both Chase and Nikki's moms. They both went through the same thing of losing their husbands. It was so difficult for them and I could feel that they were having a hard time dealing with it. But Chase's mom does meet someone and even though he doesn't like it at first, he supports it. I also really liked Chase's grandparents, which are his mom's parents. They always show support even when Chase had slipped a time or two. They understand he's going through a hard time. I think the character dynamic was amazing! She really made me feel for these awesome people. I loved when they did, laughed when they laughed and I sobbed when certain things happened.

The storyline is very heartbreaking from the get go. It gets better then BAM!!!!!! A shocker ending that keeps you in sobs!!!! I can't tell you how much I wanted to quit reading this. My eyes literally had no more tears left. I don't know how this author was able to write this book!!!! I had to take a break because I couldn't see my nook. The words blurred together and I almost gave up but then once I was able to breathe again, I read the rest. Only to be in more tears. Then the letter. OMG, the letter. Holy shit, it really made me bawl and at that time I'd felt numb so I just sobbed right through it. How? Why? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! WHAT THE FUCK??????????????? Those were things that went through my head towards the end. I almost couldn't breathe. Oh Chase. My God Chase. It's weird because I felt this book was written for me. I went through everything they went through. They were living my life. Even that ending, before the prologue....MY LIFE. I swear, I would have been a nervous wreck writing this. I couldn't even write my own book after reading this. As it was I didn't go to sleep til 4 am. I felt like a zombie and my face hurt. I can't say READ OR DON'T READ. But I'm warning you....if you do read this....A box of tissues is needed. Okay, I've said all I can now. My eyes are getting teary again.

Review of Mark of the Princess

Mark of the Princess (The Kingdom Chronicles, #1)Mark of the Princess by B.C. Morin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Can't think straight....review to come!!! :)

OKAY, I finally have come up with words to form this review. But before I do, let me please start off by saying this. Barbie and I have become such good friends before I even read her book. She is an amazing person inside and out. I saw her writing skills before purchasing her book(she can write an ending to any book and make it better than how it was originally written) and all I could say was "DAMN THIS GIRL HAS GOT SOME MAD SKILLS"!!! I was mesmerized from the start and quite intimidated might I add. I'm also a writer and when she read my first book(part of it anyway) I felt that I couldn't compete with her awesomeness. But then she told me she loved it and couldn't wait for more and that when we became famous and our books made it big, she wanted to do a book tour with me. I was floored and honored at the request. She is truly a beautiful person on so many levels and I have been blessed to have been graced with her awesome friendship. I am looking forward to many years of friendship and hope to one day tour with her like we talked about!

Okay, so she was kind enough to send me a signed copy and an awesome bookmark that I used during my adventures with these great characters. OMG, I can not begin to tell you how much I loved this book. The ending really had me going "OMG NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!" I loved this book so much! I was captivated by this magical Fae world that Barbie created for us! I really did not want it to end. Although, it took me a little longer to finish than normally because there were things that went on and kept me from reading but I took this book everywhere and caught bits and pieces every chance I got. I took it with me several times to the park while my kids played, which was perfect cause it created the perfect scenery for what was going on in the story at the time so I felt like I was actually there in the story.

SYNOPSIS:

Alannah is a Fae princess of the kingdom of Meira. She's got a mark on her back which is significant to her powers that start to develop and she becomes more powerful. She is not good at controlling them yet. But she gets kidnapped by Maligo, an evil sorceror. He wants to use her to fight in a battle since her powers are so strong. Tristan and Kaleb are Faeries and Kaleb is the Prince of the kingdom of Talom. Evyette is Alannah's adopted sister. When Alannah gets kidnapped, they embark on a rescue mission to save her from Maligo and his army of trolls and bad guys.
While Alannah is locked up in a cell, alone and helpless....she gets rescued by the sexy Brennus. He's a warrior Faerie. And he is yummy. So while they escape, they run into Tristan, Kaleb and Evyette....and trouble. They fight a bunch of Fae hating trolls, rogue faeries and other creatures. As they try to get away without alot of problems, Evyette gets badly hurt. She almost dies, but not before Brennus takes her to the kingdom of the Magi who have the power to heal her. So they all go there where things get more complicated. In the mean time, Alannah has to work with the elder faeries to learn to control her powers. The adventures continue and there's never a dull moment in this action packed book filled with magic, love, and fun.

PLOT:
I loved the storyline. I haven't read many books in the Fae world and it was a great break from the typical vampire/werewolf/angel series. This was a wonderful adventure that I felt like I was there the whole time watching with my own eyes. Barbie has a way of creating a world that seems so real, you start to wonder what is and what isn't. It was a pleasure reading this story and the characters were all so amazingly described and well developed.

CHARACTERS:

OMG, I loved all of the characters. It's hard to distinguish a favorite because they are all so awesome!!!

Alannah, the princess. She is one of my favorite heroines. She's brave, strong and a kick ass chick. I loved all of her scenes and felt she was so real. She was a powerful fighter and I know once all of her powers come in, she'll be stronger than ever!

Kaleb. Oh what do I say about him? I loved him since the beginning. He was a great guy and I felt he was perfect for her. He would do just about anything for Alannah. The love he had for her was so sweet. I really loved him....

BUT....

Brennus is the real true mate for Alannah. I fell for him at the start too. He was brave and put his own life in danger at any cost to save Alannah's. He's amazing. Their relationship blossoms and then.....and then....OMG I will not continue that. Let's just say the ending had me saying "OMG NOOOOOOOOOO"!

Tristan. Oh my sweet Tristan. I don't know what to say about him. He's amazing! I really almost fell for him more than I did for Brennus. He's Kaleb's best friend. He was always by his side, helping him out and fighting with him. Ready to take on any dangers lurking around and he had no complaints. I'd almost dare to say that he was my favorite character. He also loved Evyette. He protected her as well. It was genuine, sweet emotions that I felt between the two of them. I was happy when they were together. And sad for him when Evy got hurt. I felt his pain he suffered during that time. Call me crazy, but I think they're love is almost more real than Alannah's an d Brennus....almost. So don't kill me.

Evyette. I liked her character development. She was described so well. She was a great sister to Alannah. She was adopted by Alannah's parents as a young baby. But they grew up together and really had a close relationship. It shows that blood isn't what always makes a family. It's the bond and connection and love. They have all of that. She could have stayed behind, allowing Tristan and Kaleb to go search for Alannah after she was kidnapped. But she wouldn't have that. She went along with them even when she knew there would be dangers. I admire her for that. Great sister.

The rest of the characters were done brilliantly as well. I loved the Queens and Kings of the kingdoms. Alannah and Kaleb's parents...they played big roles in this and I can't wait to see more of them in the next books. Each of the characters made an impact on me and even the bad and evil guys have a place in my heart. That's how well Barbie created them. It's not often that I love the majority of the characters in the book I read. There are characters I can relate to and those that are just...eh okay. That is definitely not the case here. I love them all and can't wait to share more adventures with them.

WRITING STYLE:

Like I said before, the writing style is mesmerizing and captivatin from the first page. I loved the magical world we got to live in. It was fascinating and very easy to follow. I loved the names she came up with for her characters. They are creative and unique. I mean geez this girl has the whole package. First it's the plot that grabs you and holds on til the last page....then the names of all the characters, that alone is intriguing. Also the names of each kingdom is ridiculously charming. Barbie is just an all around awesome person in every way imaginable. I can't wait to see what's in store for the characters in the next book. And I'm hoping I can somehow get my hands on it before it comes out so I can review it. Ahem. *hint hint*

Anyway, so to sum up this review.....THIS BOOK IS EVERYTHING A FAIRYTALE SHOULD BE AND MORE. I didn't want it to end. Now I miss them, but at least I have the book so I can re read it before the next one comes out! GREAT JOB BARBIE!!!! YOU ROCK MY SOCKS OFF! :) <3

*EXPLICIT LANGUAGE*

If you ignore these warnings and have a problem with my review, I don't know what to tell you. This is my review so I deserve respect, so please refrain from bitching or complaining. Thank you. Now lets get on with the review shall we?

I'm a little mad at myself because I had written a really awesome long review yesterday but my computer froze and it got deleted. So I am re writing this from memory. I just hope I cover everything.
First of all, I have to say: WELL DONE JAMIE. WELL DONE. This book was nothing short of fantastic. I am kicking my ass for not reading it sooner. The thing is, at first I never planned on reading it. The initial cover turned me off. It looked freaky. But NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER. That saying couldn't be more true. SHIT, this was a great book. I finally bought it on my nook after getting hounded by my wonderful GR ladies, raving about how wonderful it was and how hot and sexy and amazing Travis was. HOLY SHIT. He. Is. Awesome.!! Well, then I started reading more reviews and stumbled upon a review that pissed me off. Okay, so if you're not an author, don't talk. Seriously, I am sick of hearing how much of a troll Jamie is. I saw her post on FB and it really bothered me, so I searched for the reviewer she was talking about. WOW, a bunch of fucking immature brats hating on a woman who wrote a book that she felt was good and touched her heart. Let me tell you this, I am a writer. It is not easy. I'm writing 2 books and being a writer is not a piece of cake. There is alot of sweat, blood and tears that go into a book. Authors pour their heart and soul into each book they write, so unless you are one and are really famous and make lots of money and you're on the Best Sellers list, just keep your nasty comments to yourself. That's called immaturity. Or better yet, just keep your comments to yourself even then. Grow the fuck up!! Okay, I'm done ranting. Sorry, it just bothers me when people attack an author for the sake of feeling better about themselves.

Now, I bought this book right after I read all that crap. I don't understand why people didn't like this book. OKAY, I get it. Not many people are in favor of vulgarity, sex or bad language. Well, face it people its life. Life is full of it. Get over it. Jamie wrote a book based on things that happen in real life. This isn't a fairy tale that's for sure. But it was so well developed and so heartbreaking and disasterous and so powerful, it was BEAUTIFUL!!!I loved every minute of it. I was swept away from beginning to end. I really felt this book took me back to my own life experiences. I went through a similar situation as Abby. I was married to a guy who was very temperamental. He was mentally and emotionally abusive to the point where I thought of ending my life. Yea, thats extreme but he was fucked up in the head and took me down with him. To this day I am still struggling with my past. The emotional and mental scars are still there. But I finally divorced his ass and took our kids with me. So why do I like this book so much if he reminds me of my ex you wonder? Well, first off Travis was never as bad. While reading this book, eventhough memories rushed back to me..it vanished with him being the hero. He may have gotten mad and yelled and threw stuff. But he never belitteled her or hit her. He loved her and I could see that he would do anything for her. He couldn't live without her. They were perfect for each other. I can't say enough how much I loved this book. There are no words that will justify my love for it or for Travis. The sex. I get that not everyone likes the amount of sex that was in it. But I loved it. It was perfect the way it. And believe me, I felt every bit of passion and romance and sexiness that was described. The detail was....it was great. Sure its not really for a pre teen to read. But for young adults/adults, it's PERFECT! I loved the bets that were made in this. It gave the story a little fun spice to it. It was cute.

I loved the storyline. The whole fight aspect of it was awesome! I'm a big wrestling and MMA fan. I used to watch them every week. While the fights were going on, I felt like I was ringside every time. I was nervous and scared for him but when victory came, I was as ecstatic and proud as Abby was. He was a great fighter and eventhough he got beat up a little here and there, I was such a happy fool. Also, when it started out that he was a player and every girl wanted him....it amazed me to see the changes in him. I truly believe people can change, but that's if they want to. He was an ass at times and I wanted to wring his neck but then I wanted to hug and kiss him forever!! The fact that Abby changed him was so beautiful. He meets her, they become friends. Then best friends. Then he wants more than that. All the while he stops sleeping around with every girl he sees and ignores all the girls at school that try to talk to him. That was incredible. Geez, that guy made my stomach do flips inside and out. I love him. The fact that he is some bad ass, motorcylce riding, tatoo addict, fighting hot son of a bitch is appealing to me. But it's funny because my ex had the same description. Well, he didn't fight but he is the one that got me addicted to wrestling and shit. His parents were in a biker club and they all have tatoos. Bottome line, the story line was fantastic.

The characters. I loved the development of the characters. It was one book where I loved most of the characters and they were all my friends. My favorite, besides Travis was America. OMG, I was so on her side most of the time. The way she stood up for Travis to Abby when it seemed like she was playing games with him, I was cheering America on. I was pissed at Abby at the beginning. I hated Parker and everytime they went on a date, I felt like screaming at her. Then when she asked Travis how she looked, it was like a slap in the face. But throughout the book, I really loved her. She was a great lead character. I felt her pain and could relate to her in so many ways. She was strong and brave and really stood up for herself. She did put up with alot of shit from Travis but also I could see she loved him as much as he loved her. Their relationship was such a rollercoaster, I didn't know which way it would turn. I got a headache at times because just when I thought they had it all figured out.......BAM! Another disaster. It left me in tears. But it was a journey I was still happy to venture on. It was worth all the tears. I cried...I laughed....I hurt....I screamed....I smiled....I cursed.I I I I I...I loved. This is one of my favorite contemporary stories. I loved America and Shep's relationship too. They were loyal and great friends to Travis and Abby. I saw the strong friendship and loved they all had for each other. Shep was awesome. He was witty, sarcastic, loving, funny and just a great character. His love for America was so endearing and sweet. They were the perfect best friends. And how could you forget the cool funny gay guy? Finch was amazing. I wish we had more scenes with him but what we got, I loved. He helped Abby through some tough times while she and Travis were apart. I loved the whole Valentine's party date scene. He was so fun. I loved Travis' family. His dad was so awesome! He made me bawl like a baby in the kitchen scene at Thanksgiving. It broke my heart to pieces. It pissed me off when Abby decided not to tell Travis she changed her mind and wanted him back. But I guess there was a reason for that to happen. We didn't get to know his brothers that well, but they seemed like a bunch of fun loving funny guys. The whole poker scene was hilarious. Go Abby. Trent. I loved him. It was so sweet that he came to Travis' last fight as support for his brother and to watch out for Abby. When we thought he died in the fire, I cried my eyes out. It was so emotional. THAT WHOLE SCENE, I was gripping my bed trying to read my nook as my the words were so blurry from an ocean of tears. When we found he was safe and alive, I cried so much of relief. The only characters I didn't like were Benny, Parker and Abby's dad. They were all a bunch of assholes I wished bad things on. Every scene with Parker I cringed with fury. I was glad when she left him at the restaraunt. About time, get rid of his ass!!! Basically, I loved the character dynamic. Jamie did a great job of describing each of them and their roles were amazing and fit the book perfectly. The characters were memorable and I will never forget them. Abby and Travis will always have a place in my heart. I love them as if they were my real friends!

The ending. Oh gosh. This book had me in tears the whole way through. It was emotional for so many reasons. But I loved the end. It was awesome! I can't say enough good things about this ending. It was just perfect in every way. The eloping in Vegas, the tatoo Abby got, the love they shared and how much they are meant for each other. Ugh, this book leaves me speechless. I want to read it again. Remembering everything I loved about this book makes me teary again, it really touched my heart. I recommend people reading it and not letting the reviews deter them from giving this amazing book a chance!! You will be surprised at what you may feel once you pick up this book! I am so excited cause I bought the paperback copy with Jamie's autograph! Can't wait to get it! Here are some of my favorite quotes!

“To douchebags!" he said, gesturing to Brad. "And to girls that break your heart," he bowed his head to me. His eyes lost focus. "And to the absolute fucking horror of losing your best friend because you were stupid enough to fall in love with her.”

“I knew the second I met you
that there was something about you I needed. Turns out it
wasn’t something about you at all. It was just you.”

“I know we're fucked up, alright? I'm impulsive, and hot tempered, and you get under my skin like no one else. You act like you hate me one minute, and then need me the next. I never get anything right, and I don't deserve you...but I fucking love you, Abby. I love you more than I loved anyone or anything ever. When you're around, I don't need booze, or money, or the fighting, or the one-night stands...”

“You can’t tell me
what to do anymore, Travis! I don’t belong to you!”
In the second it took him to turn and face me, his
expression had contorted into anger. He stomped toward
me, planting his hands on the bed and leaning into my face.
“WELL I BELONG TO YOU!” The veins in his neck
bulged as he shouted, and I met his glare, refusing to even
flinch. He looked at my lips, panting. “I belong to you.”

“. “I need to hear you say it. I need to know you’re mine.”
“I’ve been yours since the second we met.”

“I don't get scared very often," he said finally. "I was scared the first morning I woke up and you weren't here. I was scared when you left me after Vegas. I was scared when I thought I was going to have to tell my dad that Trent had dies in that building. But when I saw you across the flames in the basement...I was terrified. I made it to the door, was a few feet from the exit, and I couldn't leave.
"What do you mean? Are you crazy?" I said, my head jerking up to look into his eyes.
"I've never been so clear about anything in my life. I turned around, made my way to that room you were in, and there you were. Nothing else mattered. I didn't even know id we would make it out or not, I just wanted to be where you were, whatever that meant. The only thing I'm afraid of is a life without you, Pigeon."
I leaned up, kissing his lips tenderly. When our mouths parted, I smiled. "Then you have nothing to be afraid of. We're forever.”

“He continued to stare out the window. "I meant what I said before. You need to walk away, Pidge. God knows I can't walk away from you.”

“I don't know what I'm going to do with you, Trav! I've dumped someone for you-twice-I've picked up and went to Vegas with you-twice-I've literally gone through hell and back, married you and branded myself with your name. I'm running out of ideas to prove to you that I'm yours."
A small smile graced his lips. "I love it when you say that."
"That I'm yours?" I asked. I leaned up on the balls of my feet, pressing my lips against his. "I. Am. Yours. Mrs. Travis Maddox. Forever and always.”

“Vegas?" I asked. His brow furrowed, unsure of where I was headed.
"Yeah?"
"Have you thought about going back?" His eyebrows shot up.
"I don't think that's a good idea for me."
"What if we just went for a night?" He looked around the dark room, confused.
"A night?"
"Marry me," I said without hesitation. I was surprised at how quickly and easily the words came. His mouth spread into a broad smile.
"When?" I shrugged.
"We can book a flight tomorrow. It's spring break. I dont't have anything going on tomorrow, do you?"
"I'm callin' your bluff," he said, watching my reaction closely as he was connected. "I need two tickets to vegas, please. Tomorrow. Hmmmm...," he looked at me, waiting for me to change my mind. "Two days, round trip. Whatever you have.”

Look at what I got in the mail today!!

So this book looks really good. It's a friend of a good friend who wrote this. It sounds fantastic. I can't wait to delve into this, once I finish a couple of others.

Blurb: The feisty and determined faerie Princess Alannah is many things, but she never thought she would be the key to her people’s destruction.

Kidnapped for a power she does not yet possess, Alannah finds herself in the clutches of the most malevolent sorcerer of her time. Maligo. Alannah escapes her prison with help from the handsome and stalwart warrior faerie, Brennus.

Now she must cross mountains and forests fraught with rogue faeries, vicious Fae-hating trolls, dangerous shape-shifters, and more to reach the only ones that can help her control her incoming powers. The Elder Faeries.

With Brennus by her side, Alannah is determined to reach the Elder Faeries and save her people. Maligo is just as determined she never makes it that far.

So I am excited to start this soon. It looks very intriguing!

Two-way Street by Lauren Barnholdt

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow. Wow. Wow. I finished this in a day, started it last night and couldn't put it down. I freakin loved it!!! Review to come!

Okay, so wow this book was AMAZING!!! First of all, I gotta give the author props! Her idea for the story was so well developed and thought of. Okay, so imagine this:

You and your ex just broke up for some unknown reason and you're heartbroken. He totally disses you and says he met someone else. Okay, whatever, obviously she's a slut and he's a dick. Case closed. Well then there's an important trip that has been planned prior to the break up and you are both supposed to go-together. Oh and its a LOOOOONG drive.
Do you still go?

Well, here is my thoery on this. Depending on the importance of the trip and whether or not you can make arrangements to go without him at the last minute. I mean, you're broken up and he's the reason...so why would you put yourself through such a horrible situation like that? Hmm okay while reading this, I totally imagined the whole time that it was me and my douche bag ex husband. OMG, I would have killed him before we got to our destination then threw his body in a secluded river(if there is one). I know, a little masochistic. But yea well, I'm sure we've all had thoughts like that about our exes but its not like we would ever really do it. I would go as far as planning it, then chicken out for the fact that I am not a murderer for one. And for another, I do not want to spend my life in jail. Oh and not to mention, it's a sin.

Getting on with my review now. I bought this book on impulse one night. I liked the plot, the setting, and the cover was interesting. So I bought it, though it sat on my book shelf for a few days and finally, just last night I pulled it out and started. I. WAS. HOOKED. I literally finished it within 24 hours. I couldn't put it down.

So Jordan and Courtney had a nice start to their relationship. They knew each other since high school, though they never really talked much and got together their senior year after hanging out at a party, a few months before graduation. Their friendship was sweet and romantic. It alternated perspectives. We got to see both sides to their story, which just like the title, there are two sides to every story...a two-way street when it comes to relationships. Courtney was still a virgin who was not so popular. But Jordan was the hottest and biggest player in school. Every girl wanted him and he knew it. Even I wanted him. They were a cute pair. Although, I didn't care for Courtney much but I adored Jordan from the start to finish. After catching his mom having an affair, he does his best to stay away from home. he spends alot of time with Courtney and they get really close. But there is a secret that keeps them apart. Eventhough he loves her, he has to break up with her. It's for the best for both of them. I was sad to see it end but once you read on, you understand why he had to do it. She is left in the dark and is forced to move on from him. But then her parents make her go on the trip to their college orientation together. It's a 3-day disaster. So what happens when she finds out all the secrets that's kept them apart? Read and find out.

The writing was captivating, compelling, intriguing, beautiful, amazing, and anything else I could probably think of. The only beef I had with this book was that there were many times a thought was repeated in many parts throughout the book. Like for instance: it would say 'Well, she looks beautiful', "You look beautiful." I said. or many times they would say something and then reiterate the thought many times with 'I mean' at the end. I understood the first time, every time. It was silly things like that. But other than that, it was simply amazing! I could overlook those small mistakes because it was minuscule. One thing I loved about this book was that it went back and forth between the past and the present. It started off in the present and would flip back and forth between both Courtney and Jordan. That was pretty cool to see and I absolutely enjoyed it!

The setting. This was brilliant. I loved the setting, in Florida, North Carolina and many other states that were mentioned. There was alot of detail and I could picture myself there in every second. I enjoyed it thoroughly. It's a must read.

The characters. I liked most of the characters. Jocelyn, Courtney's best friend was cool. I didn't like her the first half of the book. She pissed me off. Eventhough she was looking out for Court, I felt she was very hypocritical at times and I wanted to slap her. But she redeemed herself at the end. BJ, Jordan's best friend and Jocelyn's boyfriend was awesome! I liked him alot. He was funny, sarcastic and a loyal friend to Jordan. He was a great character to the story. I could picture him as a cute beefy guy with facial hair and glasses, eventhough he didn't wear any. He kind of reminded me of that nerdy guy on Revenge of the Nerds, not the main character but the big guy. Though BJ was sweet and he was a great boyfriend to Jocelyn. Lloyd was eh, okay. I didn't like him much. Courtney was in love with him for 6 years but never told him. Then after high school before she leaves for college he makes out with her and expects her to just be with him. He was kinda a creep. But luckily he wasn't in the book that much. Then there was Courtney's douche bag dad, which I hated the most! I wanted to beat the shit out of him. Oh and kick him in the balls. But I guess without him being such an evil person, there wouldn't really be a story to tell. Still, I hated him. Courtney, ummm she was ok. I mean I understood her hostility towards Jordan because she doesn't know the reason Jordan had to break up with her. I can sympathize with her to an extent. But she was still kind of annoying and whiney more to the point of "OMG, shut the hell up". But by the end, I liked her better. As for Jordan, I LOVED HIM!!! The whole way through, I felt so much love for him and I felt so bad for him too. He really loved Courtney but there were things he couldn't tell her just yet. And he had his reasons. Some would say it was a cowardice move but I think if I was thrown in that situation, I would have done the same thing. He was sexy and vulnerable and sweet and oh so SWOON WORTHY!!! He made my tummy do some crazy weird stuff!!! He is on my top 10 fictional boyfriend list.

I highly reccommend this book to those that love an adventure or romantic story. It was fun and also at times heartbreaking but it was worth the pain. You saw how their love started out and developed, growing stronger and eventhough it ended, their love never died. So beautiful! Easily 5/5 stars!!
